Paul James
Paul James is a London-based ceramicist whose minimalist vessels celebrate the raw beauty and texture of clay. After earning an MA in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art in 1988, he embarked on a distinguished 30-year career in fashion design, working with brands like Gucci, Calvin Klein, and COACH. Returning to ceramics later in life, James now creates hand-built forms that emphasize purity of material and form. His work often features monochrome or neutral palettes, with surfaces that are turned, sanded, and polished to reveal natural textures. Distinctive elements include seams and reassembled forms that introduce subtle movement and imperfection.
