Keith Menear, together with his wife, are the resident potters at Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre, West Sussex and have been working with clay for the last 20 years. The studio is run as a commercial pottery and is a popular location for courses. Keith produces a range of work supplying galleries and outlets throughout the country. A number of pieces are also a part of the Horsham Museum permanent collection.
Keith's interests lie particularly with glaze chemistry on stoneware and raku clay bodies. His dual interests in science and art have informed the work and provided inspiration for much of his pieces. All of his work is hand crafted, normally wheel thrown and the glazes are developed in the studio to give each piece its unique character.
Keith is a member of the Association of Sussex Artists and is a committee member of the Southern Ceramic Group.
