Emma Bennett

Emma Bennett is a visual artist and editor of The City Art Book series. Predominantly known as a Cambridge based collage artist who creates vibrant hand-cut collages using only recycled papers. Emma’s attention to detail has lead to large-scale collage replicas of Cambridge scenes which have been featured in magazines and books.

A combined love of illustration can be seen in Emma’s detailed hand-drawn black and white Cambridge and city scenes, mixed with small collage elements. Emma’s first love has all ways been anything based around nature and botanics. (she has the A’ Level art and textile design notebooks to prove it). It is this botanical love that she now returns to for an entirely new series of work shown for the first time at Cambridge Contemporary Art.

Emma has combined detailed hand-cut botanic work with careful layers of collage and 3D raised elements. In 2017 Emma created and edited The Cambridge Art Book, which shows Cambridge and Ely through the eyes of over 50 local artists. The popularity of the book has lead to further books, to date: The Oxford Art Book, The Edinburgh Art Book, The Liverpool Art Book, The Dublin Art Book and coming in 2021 The Bristol and Bath Art Book.
