Celia Hart's studio is in a small village in the south-west corner of Suffolk, near the familiar landscape of Cambridgeshire where she grew up. Her work is inspired by the landscape of East Anglia, its plants, animals and history; ideas for prints are formed walking the footpaths, Roman Roads and Saxon dykes of Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
Rather than use a printing press Celia prefers to hand press with a traditional barren, or a wooden or metal spoon; and usually prints onto light-weight Japanese and Nepalese papers.A limited number of each print (10 to 50) is made, and due to subtle variations in the process and paper, each print is unique.
