Alice-Andrea Ewing
Based in Suffolk
After studying History of Art at the University of Cambridge, Alice-Andrea Ewing went on to train as a founder-sculptor, casting with the Italian Lost Wax method. Her three-dimensional practice is accompanied by a continued interest in painting and is partly informed by an attempt to reconcile the roles of sculptor and painter, having begun her practice as the latter.
The Organics series originated from a fascination in the transformative properties of bronze - to imbue, suddenly, common objects with new weight, new value and a new temporal status. Each object is a unique cast, produced by adapting the Lost Wax casting method to burn out organic matter. This series includes unique pieces produced during the White House Farm Residency and the series has grown to include specimens from various gardens around Suffolk.
In Autumn 2025 she will be working with Jonathan Anderson on a new collaboration for his personal design brand JW Anderson, with Luca Guadagnino. She has also been working with Aldourie Castle on a new collection of works for Wildlands in Scotland.
