Claire Ireland

Claire Ireland is a ceramic artist who creates individual, hand-built pieces. Her studio is at the London Museum of Water and Steam. She uses the creative atmosphere, facilities and special location to inspire her work.

Claire has started to explore alternative hand building techniques; larger more sculptural forms have emerged during her research. The smoky and painterly surfaces she achieves envelop her ceramic forms and are integral to the whole.

She find great enjoyment and creative impulse through making collections and arranging man made and natural forms. The discipline of drawing and her continuous sketchbook studies are of prime importance to her.
