Paul Smith

Paul Smith was born in Northampton in 1961.

He studied Fine Art Sculpture at Leicester Polytechnic and went on to do a Postgraduate Diploma in Art Therapy at Hertfordshire College of Art and Design.

Paul now lives and works on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

All of his new figurative ceramic sculptures are unique one-offs. They are hand built in clay, using a variety of different methods. The work is in a bold and semi-abstract style, with graceful sweeping curves and simplified details.

Paul has recently produced a series of bronze, iron and aluminium resin sculptures. They are produced in limited edition runs of 12 or 24 only. Layers of coloured waxes are used to build up warm and appealing surfaces.

Paul's work has featured in numerous exhibitions throughout the U.K.
