Sam Johnson

Sam Johnson was born in Richmond, North Yorkshire in 1966.

She achieved a First Class BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at Newport School of Art (1989-92) and a Higher Diploma in Fine Art Printmaking at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1994. She has exhibited widely in both the UK and more recently in the States.

Sam's work on canvas combines a particularly delicate hand transfer print technique, which is then worked into using etching inks, pastels, elaborate silk embroidered detailing, Japanese paper transfer and hand-sewn glass beading and sequins.

Sam divides her time between Cambridge and Los Angeles.
