Jenny Grevatte

Jenny Grevatte was born in Bristol in 1951.

She undertook a Foundation Course and an Honours Degree in Fine Art at Leicester Polytechnic (1969–74).

Jenny now lives and works in the Midlands.

She uses a mixed media method of layering collage, paint and coloured glazes to create multi textured compositions that have become her trademark.

Her work has featured in numerous private and public collections throughout the U.K. and overseas including Saarland State Collection; National Museum of Johannesburg; De Montfort University Collection. Leicester; Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal, Cumbria; Leicestershire Museum and Art Gallery.

Prices range from: £400 - £4,500

 

A 15 minute documentary produced by her Filmmaker son, Alex J. Wright, to coincide with her two venue forthcoming retrospective exhibition at New Walk Museum and Embrace Arts, Leicester entitled “A Painters Progress”.

The film tracks the progress of Jenny’s life and career with particular reference to the work completed for “A Painters Progress”. It includes her source material and inspiration; her working practice in the studio and features interviews with the artist.
