Aliisa Hyslop

Aliisa Hyslop was born in 1957 of Finnish/Scottish parents.

She studied at Portsmouth College of Art, gaining a B.A. Hons in Fine Art in 1981.

Her paintings are figurative, often expressing joy and melancholy. Aliisa never uses life models as her inspiration comes directly from her experiences and imagination. She describes her paintings as 'a world, somewhere between reality and imagination'.

Since 1983, Aliisa has shown her work in numerous Scottish galleries and Cambridge Contemporary Art.
