Julie Turner

Julie Turner is based at a workshop on the Sussex coast.

Most of the glass she produces is made by the process of fusing and slumping. This involves cutting and arranging the glass components and various inclusions, which range from enamels to metal leaf or wire. This arrangement is then fired to melt the glass together into a flat panel, and then this is placed over a mould and fired again to allow the glass to bend into the shape of the mould.

Liquidity is a big inspiration, and Julie likes to incorporate air bubbles to enhance the appearance of water.

All of her work is made and signed only by herself and each piece is unique.

Prices range from: £17 - £250
