Yo ThomMy work is thrown and hand-built functional stoneware with influence from both British and Japanese traditional pottery and food culture. I try to create tableware which will become 'clothes for food'. It performs as a background for the food you serve, yet retains strong personality. The harmony of my tableware with food is the most important thing I consider when I make it. My Ai (Indigo) range was developed from my love of Japanese Indigo fabric and its traditional patterns. The wood-fired pieces are called the Boku range, which means simple and 'as it is'. I love the power of wood and fire, which create an endless palette of colours beyond my control. I keep the design as simple as possible to compliment the tones produced during firing. Prices range from: |
