Maureen MinchinPLEASE NOTE: We currently have no ceramics by Maureen Minichin in the gallery.
Maureen Minchin studied at the Bath Academy (1973) but gained most of her practical knowledge of ceramics from workshops in Arran, Sutherland, Norfolk, Italy and the Dartington Pottery in Devon.
She now lives and works in a remote part of Argyll.
Her domestic pots are thrown in terracotta clay, sprigs and handles attached, then dipped in a cream slip. Once a pot is firm again the slip is drawn into with a sharp tool and then left to dry. After being fired at 950 C the pots are decorated with underglaze colours, glazed and glossfired to 1140 C under light reduction.
She was a prize winner at the 2nd International Saltglaze Exhibition (1983).
Her work is featured in numerous private and public collections world wide including that of Henry Rothschild.
Prices range from: £10 - £350
